Hey everyone,
I'm getting started with organising ANUCON for (much) later this year, and unfortunately it looks like the ANU holidays and the ACT public school holidays don't match up this year at all. (ANU holiday weekends: September 8-9, 15-16, 22-23; ACT holiday weekends: September 29-30, October 6-7, 13-14).
Since that's the case, we don't particularly have any restrictions on which weekend we have ANUCON this year - so, any suggestions?
Known tournaments: ATC: September 1-2 Games Day: September 8-9 Emperor's Legion(?): September 22-23 MOAB: September 29-October 1 NSW Masters: October 20-21
Also, October 8 is "Family and Community day" so we probably don't want to run it on the long weekend (since people will probably be at the coast).
So, possible weekends are: September 15-16 October 13-14 October 27-28
Does anyone know of any other tournaments in Sept-Oct this year, and does anyone have any preferences for the date?
Cheers,
Luke

I'm now targeting October 13-14 for ANUCON - I've just shot off an email to ANU venue hire and I'll hopefully hear back from them soon, and then I'll be able to lock in the dates.
We'll be running 6th ed (unless GW falls over before it releases or something), and if the chaos codex comes out in September we'll be running with that too.

In previous years we've run our tournaments from 8:30-5:00 on both days, but I'm considering moving it back a bit as 8am is quite early for some people - would people prefer a later start, 9:00 or even 9:30, and a corresponding late finish at 5:30 or 6:00?

I'm all for having a later start! Evenings don't worry me, and even 6 isn't going to eat too much into anyone's evening plans.

I'm not hugely bothered by the 8:30 start, but I can see how 9am would be easier on most people. And a 5:30 or 6pm finish shouldn't be all that onerous.
