I'll keep this updated with rules and army list Q&A which I'll use for ANUCON. Feel free to post in this thread with questions or questions/comments about existing answers (especially if you think I've missed something when answering a rules query). These are specifically for ANUCON2010.
ARMY LISTS
Q: Can I take allies?
A: No, unless your codex specifically states otherwise (ie: Daemonhunters and Witchhunters as of 03/06/2010)
Q: The Daemonhunters codex has been released in PDF format (www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?catId=&categoryId=§ion=&pIndex=0&aId=9800044a&start=1 - 24/06/2010) which does not include any allies - may I still take IG/SM allies for Daemonhunters?
A: Yes. As far as I concerned, the PDF release does not override the existing print codex, and the PDF looks like it's just selected portions of the print codex anyway. So, you can still take IG/SM allies for Daemonhunters as per the rules in the print codex.
Q: Can I use units from Forgeworld/Imperial Armour?
A: No to superheavys, flyers, and gargantuan creatures. If your codex already has rules for a unit, then you may not take the forgeworld version (eg: manticores). Everything else is by approval only, please email the TO with the rules entry you would like to use (I own some IAs, not all). You must own the appropriate model or have a well-modeled conversion ("well-modeled" as judged by the TO, again ask first).
Q: Can I use apocalypse units or formations?
A: No.
Q: Can I use spearhead formations?
A: No.
RULES
Q: Can I place a deep striking monolith on top of other units?
A: No. To deep strike, the original position (before scatter) must be a valid deep strike location, so not in impassable terrain, on top of other models, or within 1" of enemy models. The Monolith can therefore only push enemy units out of the way if it scatters on top of them.
Q: Tau devilfish and piranhas are gimped because their compulsory drones give up a KP!
A: That's not a question, but for the purposes of this tournament if you give up the ability to VOLUNTARILY detach the dones (so, they always stay on the vehicle until the vehicle is destroyed), then those drones can't claim OR contest objectives but also don't give up a KP. However, if you want to be able to voluntarily detach them, then they can claim objectives (if it's a devilfish for firewarriors), contest objectives, but also give up a KP. You have to choose between the two options when you choose your army list (if you don't specify, you're taking the second one).
Q: How many KP are thunderfire cannons and the attached techmarine worth? Once the thunderfire cannon is destroyed, the techmarine becomes an independent character...
A: 1 KP.
Q: For a Daemonhunters list, are my assault cannons still Heavy 3 and not Rending?
A: Yes. Codex > Rulebook, even when the Codex is ridiculously old and out of date. Blame GW!
